Description
Roland Trevitt recalls memories of his childhood at Shirland Cottage, and later at the historic "Palmyra Estate". The Trevitt family lived in close proximity to their extended family, who were supportive over the years. Details include the typical Sunday routine of this strong Methodist family. Roland also tells a little of his school days. He recalls his early working life and his teenage rebellion. Some details of the Depression and of how members of the Methodist fraternity tried to help each other. The interview also includes details of post war years; buying a house and early involvement in the Ryde District Historical Society.
