Recognizing that the history of the Ryde LGA is created by those who live, work and/or are associated with the area, the Ryde History Hub welcomes users to contribute their photos, stories, research or personal memories for inclusion in the digital archives.
Ryde History Hub allows members to:
- share recollections
- tag people and locations on materials already included in the Archives
- suggest edits
By using these features, community members can help build knowledge. Please start by registering for an account. You can also use the Login button at the top right of the screen.
Contributing material
You may have photos, documents or videos in a digitised format that you are willing to contribute to Ryde History Hub. We are looking for historical or contemporary material that tells the story of the people, events, places or organisations associated with the Ryde LGA and its suburbs which are Chatswood West, Denistone, Denistone East, Denistone West, East Ryde, Eastwood, Gladesville, Macquarie Park, Marsfield, Meadowbank, Melrose Park, North Ryde, Putney, Ryde, Tennyson Point and West Ryde.
Examples include:
- immigrant ancestors, family reunions, formal portraits, weddings
- school buildings and school events
- community events
- local businesses
- architecture
- streetscapes and landscapes
- places of worship
- cultural celebrations
Black & white, colour, new or old, if it's important to you and part of your story it can become part of the broader story of Ryde. By sharing your records, you help build a rich resource of primary source material for future generations and researchers.
