Date1895DescriptionText of address: To Mr. & Mrs. Lovell ex-Mayor and Mayoress of Ryde, we the teachers and scholars of the Ryde Superior Public School, together with your true friend Mrs. Jane Darvall, desire to express our high appreciation of your nobleness of character, and sterling worth. As Mayor and Mayoress of Ryde you made all the assistance in your power to make the visit of Lord & Lady Carrington to the school and the inauguration of Arbor Day for the colony a success. The noble way in which you discharged the duties of your office, on the occasions of the visits of the Minister for Lands and the Minister for Public Instruction, together with your many acts of kindness up to the present have greatly endeared you to us all. We trust you will long be spared not only to us but also to your esteemed family and the district in whose interest you have worked so ardently, honourably, and successfully. Wishing you much future happiness, we remain yours, signed Jane Darvall, Geo. H. Hunt, Ryde Superior Public School 21st July 1895.
