Creator/PhotographerPeter BeacroftDate31 May 1991DescriptionPreviously site of Palace/Ritz Picture Theatre, Ryde City Council purchased the premises in 1972 for use as a community centre. Argyle Theatre is located on the first floor of the premises and was made available for hire from 1st February 1977. The theatre was closed in the late 1980s because it did not conform to the safety requirements to operate as a theatre. Extensive renovations commenced 1992 and it re-opened in 1995 as a performing arts venue for local community groups.
