Memorial Park, Meadowbank
Memorial Park in Meadowbank was originally part of the larger Meadowbank Park but was established as a dedicated memorial space. It has a history centered around its war memorials, which are its namesake features. The park is home to a First World War obelisk unveiled in 1921, a Second World War memorial walkway installed later, and more recently, a Korean War memorial plinth unveiled in 2025 to recognize the conflict and its Australian casualties. Beyond its commemorative role, the park also features playgrounds, picnic areas, and other recreational amenities
War Memorials
First World War Memorial: A sandstone obelisk erected in 1921 by the residents of Meadowbank and West Ryde to honor those who fought in the Great War.
-
- It includes a separate honor roll for those who fought at Gallipoli and a second for those who fought in France.
- The obelisk was unveiled by Sir Joseph Cook
Second World War Memorial Walkway: A walkway with 42 small pillars, each engraved with a country where Australia fought during World War II.
-
- Each pillar has a stone from the corresponding country inset at the top
Korean War Memorial: A plinth was installed in 2025 to commemorate Australian involvement in the Korean War, which is sometimes called the "forgotten war".
