I was fascinated with the idea of taking something meaningless- unemotional packaging that we don't give a seconds thought to discard after use - transforming the same material into something that can hold memories, emotion, passion and magic moments?
Red carpet gowns are considered objects of exquisite beauty and are usually made from new expensive premium materials. Could we feel the same way if it were made from empty juice bottles, paper packaging and bubble wrap? Instead of using new resources, can we reimagine the discardable elevating them into objects of exquisite beauty.
I wanted to explore the juxtaposition between the exquisite and the discardable through this wearable art.
