Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre
DESCRIPTION
The original venue known as the Ryde Swimming Centre, was demolished in November 1998 and rebuilding commenced in April 1999. The re-build was completed in April 2000, opening in May 2000 prior to the Sydney Olympics starting in September.
During the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympics, Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre hosted the preliminary water polo competitions and the women's water polo semi-finals
The new venue is now known as the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre (RALC) an has a variety of facilities including training and program pools, wave and wading pools for toddlers, a giant water slide, multi-use courts and a sauna, spa and steam room.
