James (Jim) Stanbury Hull OAM, 1934-

James (Jim) Stanbury Hull (born 1934) is a long-time Ryde resident, community representative, and former local government leader in the City of Ryde area of Sydney. He served as a Ryde councillor from 1982 to 1999 and was Mayor of Ryde from September 1995 to September 1997.

Born in 1934, Jim Hull is connected to the well-known Stanbury family of Ryde, descendants of world champion sculler James “Jim” Stanbury (1868–1945).

During his years in public office, Hull contributed to the governance and development of the Municipality/City of Ryde through several council terms and later as mayor, helping shape local community services and civic initiatives in the area.

Community Activity
Former Chairman of the Ryde Sports Foundation. He stepped down from his long-standing chairmanship of the Foundation in December 2020 but remained involved as a committee member.
