Granny Smith Festival, 2023
The 2023 Granny Smith Festival was held on Saturday 21 October. The featured performing artists were Ricki-Lee and Cocomelon.
The Grand Parade kicked off at 9.30 and included marching bands, community floats, dancers and, of course, Mrs Smith on the Granny Smith Festival float.
In addition to the 230 market stalls, attendees could visit Eastwood Library for the Granny Smith themed craft activities as well as use their creative flair to design a bookmark for the annual competition.
At Eastwood Public School, The Apple Shed provided a focus for historical information about Granny herself, a Granny Smith Wheel of Fortune as well as live stage shows. It also hosted a circus playground. Youth were also catered for with a special Youth Zone at West Parade and at the K-Town Madang Stage.
There were plenty of opportunities to enter competitions: Big Apple Singing Competition; apple pie eating competition and a K-pop dance competition.
Performances throughout the day at the Plaza, Trelawney, Gypsy Wagon and Oval stages culminated in the finale concert with Tin Head, Dauntless and Ricki-Lee.
