The Ryde Bicentenary Quilt measures 3m x 2m and was hand sewn by 65 community volunteers in 1992 as part of Ryde's Bicentenary, commemorating 200 years since the first land grants.

It depicts the past, present and future of Ryde.

This image is of the coat of arms from Ryde, Isle of Wight, after which Ryde, NSW is named. Of importance on this coat of arms is the seahorse, which was deliberately used on the coat of arms of Ryde NSW to show the historical connection between the two places
