Granny Smith Festival, 2003
The 2003 Granny Smith Festival parade was held on Saturday 18 October. Advertised as the ‘18th big year’, there were 50 acts across three stages as well as the Hillview Lane stage.
Choirs, dance groups, bands; aerobics, exercise and meditation; Koreans, Scots, Chinese, Sinhalese were all represented.
Other activities included an international food fair, over 280 market stalls, street performers, carnival rides for the children, face painting & balloons, 'B3ND’ youth area and an apple baking competition.
Special Big Band performances included the Australia Army Band Sydney as well as The Frenchs Forest Concert Band.
The day concluded with a family concert and which featured The Whispering Jack Show, a tribute to John Farnham, followed by a Fireworks spectacular on Eastwood Oval.
