Granny Smith Festival, 2002
The 2002 Granny Smith Festival parade was held on Saturday 19 October.
Throughout the day there were four stages of entertainment including Trelawney Street, Eastwood Plaza, Hillview Avenue and Eastwood Oval. Dancers from surrounding schools as well as community groups demonstrated ballet and colonial and folk dancing. School, community and government department bands including concert, jazz, big bands and marching bands entertained the crowds.
Other activities included an international food fair, carnival rides for children, face painting and balloons and an apple pie baking competition. Market stalls, street performers and skateboarding demonstrations were other featured items.
The day concluded with a family concert and which featured The Beatnix, for the second year in a row, followed by a Fireworks spectacular on Eastwood Oval.
