Historical note: This was for the combined areas of the Ryde and Eastwood Councils. New Council took effect not from the date of the election but from 1 January 1949. The Council sat for only two years.

(4) Ald. Myers had been absent without leave for four consecutive meetings, 26 July, 9 and 23 August and 6 September 1950 thus his position on Council became vacant. Permission was sought to refrain from holding an election to fill the Extraordinary vacancy as the triennial election was due at the end of 1950. Ordinary meeting minutes 20 September 1950
