The Granny Smith Festival for 1997 was held on Saturday 18 October.
The Street Parade began at 11 am. Throughout the day all ages were catered for with activities including an apple baking competition, children's rides, food fair, street stalls, craft & storytelling, a rock climbing wall and an animal farm. Stages including at Trelawney Street, in the Plaza and the Oval hosted musical and other performances.
A feature of this year's festival was a Granny Smith Treasure Hunt where you were invited to 'explore Eastwood's retail treasures by locating the haunts, finding answers to the hints and completing your treasure map'.
The day concluded with a bush dance from 5.30 followed by fireworks.
