Minute 78 of 8 January 1947 continuing from minute 945 of 1946. It was recommended that his letter of 28 December 1946 be received, this notifying that he ‘will have to resign from the Council, as he cannot attend the meetings, unless the Council thinks he should carry on to save the expense of a Bye-election as the new elections are not far off.’ It was recommended that he be granted leave of absence until 1-3-47, he to be requested definitely to notify at that date whether he will then be convenienced to remain in office.
945 of 18 September 1946; Leave of absence, Alderman C W C Pickford. From this Alderman 26-8-46 seeking further leave of absence to the 31st December 1946, upon his living away from the Municipality. Received and granted.
Resigns from West Ward. By meeting of 2 April 1947 the Extraordinary vacancy for West Ward had been minuted and date of election set at 12 April 1947. Replaced by Francis Myers at election whose results were minuted in Ordinary minutes of 16 April 1947
